The location of the
ceremony was in
the forest |
 |
The supplicant
replies with the close
support of her Kappiya [helper attendant]
close by.
Supplicant confidently takes
her vows sealing her
dedication to preserving, practicing,
and teaching the Dhamma. |
 |
The supplicant makes an
approach in white with her robes to the teacher
and asks three times to receive the robes,
take refuges and the vows. |
 |
Then the teacher
chants to her
to seal these vows. |
 |
They then leave and come
back dressed in the robes |
 |
She is then introduced
by her new name, in this case,
Sister Khema, and
gives her
first official Dhamma talk. |
 |
The teacher then gives them
instructions |
 |
A friend and a relative
looks on in support and congratulations!
This wise Uncle
from Virginia is a healer who practices meditation
routinely in his life! |
 |
The supplicant listens carefully |
 |
A congratulations, friendship, and alliance is given to
Sister Khema by Dr. Otho Wingo, Head of Huna Research Organization
in Cape Girardeau, MO. Just as with Buddhism, Huna is dedicated to World Peace through the development and
understanding of the human mind. A 2006 alliance was formed to
teach Meditation and to share in the training offered by this
organization. This has been very fruitful for both groups. |
